Wow, Has It Really Been a Month?

Yes, for someone who normally writes a couple of posts a week, this is highly unusual!

It has been a busy and very sad time. Italy pictures and updates to come.

He Was So Young...

A lot has happened in the past month...but first and foremost on my mind is the tragic death of my step-sister's son, Lee. The funeral was Saturday in Ludington. He was 19, only 19, the only one not wearing a seatbelt, the only one who died. It was an incredible service in a huge room, yet still overflowing with those who loved him. It was painfully obvious that he was well-liked and had tons of friends, and he touched a lot of lives because he was very involved with sports and music, and was just an all-around great guy. My heart goes out to his parents Laura and Paul, his sister Megan and husband Aaron, his Aunt Lucia and Brian, Aunt Autumn and Caleb, my step-mother Peggy and my dad Gerry, and all of those who were so close to him.

Whew...really chokes me up...so completely mind-numbing to lose someone that way.
