Remember Summer?

Yes, ANOTHER snow day. Michigan is getting pounded with beautiful, fluffy, yet school-closing snow. I told my neighbor I should take down the "Let it Snow" sign happily hanging from my kitchen sink window. I've about had enough. How many more days until summer?

You really need to stop beating your kids. (And then lying and calling it a bee sting!) It's sad really. :)

I miss summer too.

So- in Missouri we almost NEVER get a snow day- so last Friday we finally had a snow day! (btw- I told you you would get this storm after us...) Anyway- I have to share my "mother of the year" snow day ideas from this past Friday: (both involve sugar, OF COURSE!)... Louis loved making snow pizza (cut out a circle of snow if it has a top hard-ish layer, put it on a plate and sprinkle with cookie sprinkles...) if the snow isn't hard on top we just scooped a plate of snow and he added as much sprinkles as he could get away with... He ate two dinner plates of snow pizza in a row (I reminded him he was wearing his mickey mouse underwear... but that's a whole other posting/comment session)

The other moment of brilliance I had on snow day was to make snow candy. I found a candy recipe on line and instead of pouring it out on a greased cookie sheet I dribbled it in the snow. The first batch was "interesting" and the second batch(different recipe) was like real REAL candy. The kids were amazed.

I didn't tell them that if we had another snow day all hell would break loose and we would mix the play-doh colors together...--Amanda
