It's Lent, Dude

Scott stopped at McDonalds last night on his 5-hour drive home from Detroit. (Relentless snow and lack of GPS factored into his ordeal.) Being Ash Wednesday, he ordered a fish sandwich. While waiting, he overheard the guys in the back while they were making it. One worker asks the other, "Why is everyone ordering a Filet-O-Fish today?" Other worker answers, "It's Lent, dude."

Click here for useless information, yet interesting history.

For Lent, here is what our boys are sacrificing:

11-year-old Ben is giving up computer games.
9-year-old Nick is giving up junk food.
7-year-old Jack is giving up sugary cereals.
Weston is only 2, so he really can't partake in the giving up. I would love for him to give up rummaging around in the fridge and helping himself to every condiment in the door!

Please pray that they can stay true to their promise and that these 40 days will not be spent in nasty withdrawal!

Love the quote: It's lent, dude. Paige and Zoey were talking about what they were going to give up, and I almost said, "hey we're not Catholic." ;)

I thought about giving up Diet Coke but then I wouldn't just be sacrificing for Jesus ... I would be in withdrawal.
